Henley
This home replaces a small farmworkers bungalow and collection of redundant farm buildings. Planning permission granted by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) for the final scheme was achieved through a carefully managed series of planning applications. Both the footprint and height of the new house remained restricted by planning conditions.
The cottage-style design of the building and inclusion of a full basement were successfully achieved within the planning and site restrictions. The redundant farm buildings are replaced by a single, linked residential barn creating additional space for use by the house. The brick, flint and clay tile external materials reflect local traditional materials typical of the area.
